The Window

The window lets you see
what's on the other side.
But when the other side is dark
it will reflect your side.
When the other side is brighter
it shows you that instead.
So you always see the light
and darkness is always hid.
It protects the inside from the out
and outside from the in.
It can open when you want it to
or lock everything in.
It always shows the light side
because it thinks that's what you want.
And if it never opens
it is because you are not.
