I had a bit of a wake up call the other day. My older cat, Alice, had started limping about so my mom took her to the vet to get her leg checked. Turns out her shoulder is badly sprained so we have to give her some pain meds and try to get her to take it easy, which means trying to keep the other cat, Kiroro, from trying to play with her (My guess is it's Kiroro's fault she got hurt in the first place because Kiroro is so much larger than Alice). Since she's my cat it's my responsibility to pay for the appointment and everything. My mom handed me the receipt and I cringed a bit at the $255 total at the bottom. But I also noticed that they had put handy little reminders for certain treatments and such on the receipt and my eyes went wide as I noticed some of the reminders were for as far back a 2004! I know we hadn't been to the vet for quite some time but the fact that she was supposed to get regular checks and treatments that long ago and didn't scared me. For all I know she could have a lot more problems than just a sprained shoulder. Our other cat has only gone to the vet once that I can remember and that was around the time we got her. She's not exactly in shape for a cat (unless you go by the saying "round is a shape") so who knows what could be hiding under all that fur and fat?! I feel really bad, like I've been neglecting them. These two are my babies and I want to take better care of them but I'm practically living paycheck to paycheck as it is while trying to save up money for school and still have some fun in my life. Based on the cost of this one appointment I don't think I can care for them the way I want to with what I'm making now and finding a better paying job in this economy without a college education would be near impossible so I've come to a decision.

I'm going to start taking commissions and all the money will be put aside in what I have named "The Kitty Care Fund" and will be used to help me take better care of my kitties. Commissions will take priority over everything else and WILL NEVER BE RUSHED because they are being payed for. The pricing would be as follows:

-Sketch: $10

-Colored Drawing: $20 (Marker Primary or Colored pencil Primary) ("Primary" means that will be the main medium used, however certain effects may involve use of another medium)

-Colored drawing with background: $25 - $35 depending on complexity of background (Marker Primary or Colored pencil Primary)

Cosplay Props and accessories: Completely dependent on prop or accessory

At this time I am not going to take commissions for full on cosplays because they would be very time consuming and expensive and I would prefer to have the person available for me to put the costume on so I can see where to make adjustments to get it as accurate as possible. This just wouldn't be practical so I apologize to anyone who was hoping for a cosplay commission.

If you want the original piece sent to you we could work on price adjustments based on shipping and care costs as well as how hard it may be for me to part with them since I tend to get very attached to my work. Obviously this does not apply to Props and Accessories. Also, if you want your commission to be private (in other words, not put up in my gallery) please let me know ahead of time.
